June L. (Schneidewind) Brooks, 77, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at her home. She was born June 21, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Arthur F. and Irene (Begemann) Schneidewind.

She started working in 1955, her first job being at Tiny's Custard Stand in Milwaukee, WI. She was part owner of the Can-Can Club in West Allis, WI, with her Aunt Bunny and Uncle Don and she retired from the University of Evansville as Food Service Manager after 35 years of employment. June L. (Schneidewind) Brooks, 77, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at her home. She was born June 21, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Arthur F. and Irene (Begemann) Schneidewind.

She started working in 1955, her first job being at Tiny's Custard Stand in Milwaukee, WI. She was part owner of the Can-Can Club in West Allis, WI, with her Aunt Bunny and Uncle Don and she retired from the University of Evansville as Food Service Manager after 35 years of employment. June was a huge animal lover, adopting many strays or finding homes for them. She enjoyed bowling at Franklin Lanes, gardening, mowing her grass and playing Canasta with the girls. She was a member of the American Legion.

June was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bob Lublow; second husband, William J. Crews; and third husband, Robert K. Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Crews; brothers, Arthur G. (Jane) Schneidewind and Thomas T. (Kathy) Schneidewind; nephews, Russell, Marty, and Tony Schneidewind; niece, Rebecca (Schneidewind) Cook; cat, Snuggles; dog, Little Bit; and grand-dog, Franklin.

Funeral Services will be 5:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Veltri Taylor. Friends may visit Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to give special thanks to AseraCare Hospice and to their great friends and caregivers, Crystal Conner, Bonnie Wilson, and Debbie Byrum.
