Joan P. "Bug" (Thornton) Green, 79, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was born August 4, 1937, in Evansville, to the late Geoffrey and Alice (France) Thornton.

She owned and operated her own catering business called "Joan Green's Cakes and Catering." She retired from Whirlpool in 2003 after 32 years. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook for everyone and having people over to eat. Joan also loved her cat, Princess, and dog, Daisy. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and enjoyed her monthly dinners with...

Joan P. "Bug" (Thornton) Green, 79, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was born August 4, 1937, in Evansville, to the late Geoffrey and Alice (France) Thornton.

She owned and operated her own catering business called "Joan Green's Cakes and Catering." She retired from Whirlpool in 2003 after 32 years. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook for everyone and having people over to eat. Joan also loved her cat, Princess, and dog, Daisy. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and enjoyed her monthly dinners with her class alumni.

Joan was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Green; son, Todd Tennyson; grandson, Brian Tennyson; sister, Jane Thomas; brothers, Patrick and Nicholas Thornton; and nephew, Jerry Eggers.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Henderson (Michael); sons, Colt, Clay, and John Tennyson; grandchildren, Brad and Kera Tennyson and Kristin Murray; great-grandchildren, Natasha Tennyson, Westin Schlimmer, Lydianna Albert, Kenneth Murray III, Richard Murray, and Domynick and Akayla Kurtz; sisters, Judy Eggers (Jerry) and Ethel Thornton; brother, Kim Thornton (Cheryl); and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
