Bettye Crook, 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at St. Mary's Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born November 26, 1932, in Island, KY, to the late Lawrence and Olma Wilkey.

She retired from Bernardin's where she had worked over 40 years as a master tool and die maker. She was proud to be the first female journeyman tool and die maker in the state of Indiana. Bettye attended Bethel Temple and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. She and her husband...

Bettye Crook, 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at St. Mary's Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born November 26, 1932, in Island, KY, to the late Lawrence and Olma Wilkey.

She retired from Bernardin's where she had worked over 40 years as a master tool and die maker. She was proud to be the first female journeyman tool and die maker in the state of Indiana. Bettye attended Bethel Temple and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. She and her husband enjoyed camping and fishing, and Bettye also liked to crochet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Crook, Sr. in 2002; daughter, Brenda Lynn Crook in 1958; and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Crook in 2016.

Bettye is survived by her sons, Warren L. Crook, Jr., David L. Crook (Diana), Mark L. Crook (Brenda); 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Wilkey (Frances); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
